Why full-body workouts are better than isolated workouts?

Split training is highly regarded in the fitness industry, and is often said to be the “better” training style. If you have a lot of time on your hands to devote to your workouts, this method is ideal since it allows you to focus on developing certain muscle groups (such as your legs, back, chest, shoulders, and arms). But if you have a demanding job and a family, and you don’t have all of the time in the world, then full-body workouts are the way to go.

The THREE BIG BENEFITS of FULL BODY SESSIONS

ONE: It requires a lower time commitment

With a full-body workout program, you don't have to spend as much time working out. This means you only need to train 3 times each week - meaning you'll have more time for other activities in your life, like spending time with friends and family.

TWO: Burns more calories

The simple truth is that you may burn more calories by working out your whole body. A higher heart rate is almost certain during a full-body workout than on days when you focus on a specific muscle area, like the chest. Therefore, this might be really helpful if your goal is to reduce body fat.

THREE: Rest less, train harder

When you're halfway through a leg workout, your legs will probably be pretty spent. You'll need extra time to recover in between sets to ensure you can still lift heavy and reap the benefits of a split training style. We see this in action during strength classes when members go on to bench press at station one and can’t lift as much due to being exhausted from previous stations.

So, if you do a full-body workout, you won't be putting all of your attention on one part of the body. Because your workouts will be well-rounded and spaced out, you won't have to take as much time off in between sessions to recover.
